Cashel's Very Good Day

Yesterday Cashel seemed to advance a bit. It started with his first five hour sleep at night--only one mid-night feed for me! And while he ate more frequently than usual and only got spotty cat naps early in the day, he made up for it with a 3.5 hour nap late afternoon, courtesy of the lap of Gran Mary. But here is the kicker: he then was wide awake and bright eyed from 6pm till the bottle at bedtime at 9pm. And he was super happy and smiley (I'm sure the two very welcome poopy diapers had something to do with that) and happy as a clam to hang out in his swing for almost 2 hours while we had dinner, cleaned up, and played with Mackey. And THEN: he slept for 5.5 hours last night!!! Again only one feed in the middle of the night. And mommy got a total (nonconsecutive, of course) of almost 7 hours of sleep, including the early morning snooze while waiting for Mackey to wake up singing (which she did: the 1-2-3-4 song by Feist on Sesame Street).

And this more than made up for the previous evening, in which everyone except for Gran Mary had a meltdown. Yin Yang of parenting I guess!
