Early Outings

We have braved society outside the home, and we survived. Every trip in the car, public nursing session, or creation of an impromptu changing table shows us that we actually CAN be parents outside of the comforts of home.

I took Mackey to Toulouse, one of our favorite restaurants, when she was just shy of two weeks, and then to Bread Winners when she was about four weeks. in both instances, she just slept in her carrier. Of course, I had a hard time not racing through my meal just to watch her for signs of wakefulness, wet diaper, or other needs. Oh, and a note for all new parents out there--Bread Winners has NO changing table in the ladies bathroom. I had to use our car instead, which meant starting it to run the A/C so I wouldn't cook mommy and baby during the diaper change. I know...bad...but I guess that's one example of the lengths you'll go to for the comfort of your child.
